Many Christians (and non-Christians) insist that it is okay to observe or celebrate “Saint Valentine’s Day”.

However, the Creator God of Jesus Christ can never approve nor honour anything that is grounded originally in demonic practice and subsequently appropriated by Christians to supposedly (but falsely) serve Christian “interests”. The mature Christian should intrinsically know that, in the absence of a biblical command or clear instruction to observe any practice, like ‘Communion’/’The ‘Lord’s Supper’ for instance, God is not in it regardless of how well Christians think they have “turned” it into a ‘Christian’ observance or practice or seek to capitalise on its “popularity”.

Inquisitive Christians will also seek out an authentic history of a particular practice and assess by the Holy Spirit whether it truly pleases a Holy God, a God that cannot look on sin (Habbakuk 1:13) irrespective of whether the sin is apparent or has been adapted as “acceptable” in “modern” day times. Speaking on the important issues of Revelation and the Foundation of the Christian ‘Church’, Jesus Christ says in Matthew 16:18: “…And on this ‘rock’ (that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God) I will build My Church, and the gates of Hades (Hell) will not overcome it”.

Thus, it is not the way of God to accept anything that is not grounded in His Truth, that is, anything that has not originated by way of basis in His Word which is aptly reflected in Jesus’ statement that “you have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men” (Mark 7:8). Therefore, the connection of Christian ‘love’ virtues and principles to a false and wholly demonic representation of “love” which are falsely illuminated by St Valentine’s Day observances or themed church services or meetings by Christians is incompatible with a Holy God whose Word declares that light can never mix with darkness (2 Corinthians 6:14-18). The God of Truth ‘said’ to Pharoah, who represents idolatry and enmity with God: “I will make a distinction between My people and your people…” (Exodus 8:23).
