The recent overturning of Roe v. Wade in the United States has triggered an outpouring of emotion across the world.

The more vocal responses have centred on those that are strictly pro-life, and, pro-choice.

The decision means that the issue of abortion has returned to the control of the States. That is, legally speaking, it will be the sole domain of the States to make laws relating to the issue of abortion in accordance with the US Constitution.

As a supporter of pro-life, importantly, an immediate consequence of the decision is that the ratio of abortions will decrease materially by virtue of the many States that have placed and will place certain restrictions on abortion. This would not have happened if Roe v. Wade were still in force.

Among other practical effects of the decision is that many people will decide that they actually want the unborn child, and others will opt for adoption. This encapsulates Psalm 139:13-16, which reveals the sanctity of the unborn life.

That is a good thing.
